NPAQ offers a multitude of Activities each year for our members and their guests to take part in. We have:

Day Walks – These walks vary in length and difficulty and can take up to a full day to complete. They take place within National Parks and Protected Area Estate. Examples of walks we have offered this year include the Hornibrook Highway stroll which was held to celebrate the new year, The Tooloona Falls Day Walk to experience the Tooloona Creek Circuit in the Green Mountains of O’Reilly’s. Bull Creek, the Day Walk from Toohey Forest to Mt Gravatt and the Gheerula Day Walk.

Weekend Camps – Weekend trips are ways of spending some quality time with your fellow members and camping options are usually suggested by the leaders. In the past, members have been to Moreton Island, Boonah and canoe trips to Noosa. Our National Parks Weekend is also held annually and is hosted by one of our Affiliates. In 2010 it is being held at Bunya Mountains National Park.

Extended Activities – These cover areas within Queensland and across the country and provide members with the opportunity to see places that are truly magnificent. Our latest Extended Activity was to Western Australia touring the South-Western National Parks.

Bird Walks - Each month our bird watching group visit some great birding spots and often come back with significant species lists which are published in the newsletter.

Great Queensland Bushwalk - NPAQ is proud to celebrate the annual Great Queensland Bushwalk taking place in August each year! The event consists of an assortment of free walks in the The Glasshouse Mountains, Lamington and D'Aguilar National Parks. The Great Queensland Bushwalk will give walkers a chance to experience the serenity of nature and learn about the value of preserving our National Parks in a healthy, engaging and social atmosphere. A variety of walks will be hosted by professional, experienced leaders ranging from bush photography, wildflower and bird walks to kayaking, bike riding and bush yoga trails. Keep an eye out for the official GQB website for your chance to register.
