NPAQ welcomes State Government gazettal of new national park land
Three properties between Lake Bindegolly and Currawinya National Parks in the state's southwest have added another 189,000 hectares of land to the national park estate and provided valuable habitat for endangered species such as the Bilby. These properties were purchased by the previous LNP Government after NPAQ lobbied for a national park acquisition fund ($17.2m) for the 2012-2015 term of State Government.
Other small additions were also made to Blackbraes National Park and several Regional Parks. NPAQ looks forward to working with the Government to define other new national parks for Queensland.
